Over the years the HPI Savage X has received a series of facelifts to maintain its status as the undisputed leader in the radio controlled Monster Truck category. You may be wondering how people at HPI managed to make an excellent model even better. The answer is quite simple; they listened to true blue Savage enthusiasts and integrated all the perks they wanted into the all new Savage X nitro. It now features extra space for the electronics, a fully adjustable suspension and a more accessible differential and gearbox. What you get is the best Savage to date, the HPI Savage X 4.6 with an amazing 2.9hp!    

 

   

The basic platform of the HPI Savage X 4.1 and 4.6 nitro models were developed by carrying over all the characteristic features that made its predecessor so popular in the world of RC cars. The seemingly indestructible TVP chassis has been retained along with the sturdy metal drive train and the long-stroke 8-shock suspension. However, the Savage X 4.1 won’t be complete without the big block 4.07cc engine. It now comes with theHPI Nitro Star F4.1 which boasts of a new finned crankcase as well as revisions to the crankshaft, cylinder, connecting rod and piston. All these upgrades make driving the Savage X an absolute blast as you can literally feel its added power and torque. The new powerplant is mated to a 2-speed gearbox while the drivetrain is a full-time four-wheel drive. 

   

   

 As for the vital stats, the HPI Savage X measures 534 mm x 427 mm x 254 mm, with a wheelbase of 336.5 mm. The gray anodized aluminum chassis was lowered by 5 mm to increase speed and for better handling. For a sleek look, the Chrome Warlock rim with 17mm hex hubs have been wrapped in new high-performance GT-2 tires. Finally, the Roto Start 2 electric system allows you to quickly crank up the engine and go!
